Governor Diri Warns Trouble Makers In Nembe.

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has warned trouble makers in Nembe against disturbing the peace of work in the area.

Governor Diri handed down the warning when the leadership of the Nembe-Se Congress paid him a courtesy visit, at Government house, Yenagoa.

His words “the insecurity that is brewing in Nembe, we will not seat down for any body to make Nembe, particularly Bassambiri to be ungovernable” 

The governor, who described the road as one of his administration’s priority, warned that government will not fold it’s arms and watch a few individuals disturb the peace of Nembe.

“For us in Bayelsa State, riverine and marital transport is very veryvimportant; because up till today, about two of our local government headquarters and all other communities, cannot be accessed by road; Brass is one of them, Southern Ijaw is one of them.”

“And that is why government has taken as a priority to take those  roads to at least to the headquarters of the local government areas.The Yenagoa/Opproma and the Nembe/Brass roads: we have succeeded in Ekeremor, because it when very far before I came in and when I came in, I continued with it and today we can now drive safely to Ekeremor, headquarters of Ekeremor local government.”

“We will not abandoned Nembe/Brass road, we will not abandoned Yenagoa/ Oporoma road; those are very important roads to us as a State and indeed, to Nigeria.’’

The number one citizen of the State, expressed displeasure over the actions of a few unscrupulous elements who are formenting trouble and urged them to have a rethink as any one ccaught would be dealt with.

On the issue of education, Governor Diri said his administration was making concerted efforts to improve on the system by building more technical colleges in all the right local government areas of the State. 

While speaking dearth of science at all the technical colleges across the State, the state number one citizen, said government has developed firm called prime, to look into the issues of lack of teachers and also checkmate truancy.

He promised the leadership of Nembe-Se that government would continue on the policies of paradigm shift on education that is base on knowledge certificate to technical education.

Governor Diri, who assured that he would not play politics with the issues of development as well as the Nembe/Brass road project, appreciated the leadership of the Nembe-Se for taking ownership of the project.

Earlier, President of Nembe Se Congrss, Dr Egbiegberi Domo-Spiff, had lauded the governor for taking the bull by the horn to start the project. 

Dr. Domo-Spiff, appealed to the state government to partner with NNPC to complete the road project given it’s enormous nature. 

While suggesting for the appointment of a consultant that will supervise and advise the government properly, he also appealed for the siting of one of the campuses  of the Medical University to Nembe.

The president of the Nembe-Se, who appealed for provision of ferry boats to ease the transportation difficulty also admonished the government take steps to enforce regulations to make the water way safer.
