…..ENDORSE GOV. DIRI’S SECOND TERM BID
Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Otuan community in Southern Ijaw Council Area, on Tuesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The chieftains, who were occupying various leadership positions in the APC, said they were tired of the unfulfilled promises, and would not want to be deceived again, especially with the elections around the corner.
Announcing their defection to the PDP during a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor, Chief Collins Cocodia in Yenagoa, one time APC leader of SILGA Ward 5 Otuan, Mr Oifie Osunu, who led the returnees, said they are ready to join the winning team, and work with the Miracle Governor, Douye Diri and his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
Pledging their loyalty to the PDP, the group, through their leader, said it will be sacrilege to remain in a party without vision, instead of teaming up with the incumbent administration, which according to them, has recorded so much in just over three years in office.
Receiving the returnees, Chief Collins Cocodia, congratulated them for choosing light over darkness, stating that Bayelsans and it’s residents are wiser, and would not choose someone without a developmental agenda, over a Governor whose modest achievements are notable to all.
While calling on them to work with the leaders of the party in the Ward, Chief Cocodia urged them to further embark on a mop up exercise, and ensure the flag of the PDP, flies high in Otuan, especially throughout the electioneering period.
Among the Ward 5 stakeholders who dumped the All Progressive Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party include Hon. Simeon Samson, Mr. Jonah Pere, Mrs Charity Peter, Mr Tonye Caleb, Godgift Jimmy, Mr Holland Robert, Corbin Kuro, Ebibie Amassomaowei, Amos Esther, Enai Nelson Stella, and Unit leader, Ebidei Godgift.
The S.A Political was joined by the National Financial Secretary, Daniel Woyegikuro, to receive the returnees.
