In the history of Bayelsa State and Nigeria, Governor Douye Diri, has secured Chapters of a book not just on his infrastructural development but as well on the tenacity  confronting institutional ills and advancement of rule of law, equity and fairness.

Many still remembered those turbulent days post February 14, 2020, when Governor Diri who was confronted with a State where virtually every sector had collapsed, especially the security sector, simply rolled up his sleeves and knuckled down to the business of restoring peace in the State.

The governor hits the ground running by rejigging the management and re-launching of the State owned security outfit codenamed “operation Doo- Akpoo” to ensure that Bayelsans once again sleep  with their eyes closed.

Today, the State owned security outfit, well equipped, is stationed in strategic locations within Yenagoa the State capital and its environs, to swiftly respond to Bayelsans as well as maintain law and order.

Though no society can be totally crime-free, Bayelsa is adjudged to be one of the safest States for investors in the Niger Delta region and the country at large.
