Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has charged political appointees to work assiduously to deliver the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the November 11 governorship election in the State.
Governor Diri, gave the charge during a meeting with all political appointees at banquet hall, urged them to deliver their various polling units for the PDP.
The governor, who said the campaign billed to commence on the 25th, will be issue-base and encouraged them to carry out the campaign devoid of rancor.
Governor Diri, who was upbeat of his victory, also charged his aide to vote and defend their votes on the Election day.
Earlier in a welcome address, State chairman of PDP, Chief Solomon Aguanana and Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor, Chief Collin Cocodia, charged all the political appointees to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by voting Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy
While stressing that Bayelsa is synonymous with PDP, Chief Aguanana and Cocodia, implored all the appointees to work tirelessly to ensure the party maintains its dominance in the State.
In their goodwill messages, the senator representing Bayelsa Central, Dr Konbowei Benson, Member representing Ogbia federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mitema Obodor and his Sagbama/Ekeremor counterpart, Chief Fred Agbedi, encouraged the appointees to come out in their numbers to vote for the PDP.
Also State attorney-general and commissioner for justice, Mr Biriyai Dambo, Chief Walter Benwari and Mrs Eunice Akene, noted that the governor has done credibly well hence the need to reelect him for continuity.
