The PDP Gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 election in Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has taken his campaign rally to Oruma, Otuasega, Emeyal, Kolo, and Elebele communities in Ogbia Constituency III.
Speaking to the mammoth crowd at Otuasega and Kolo communities, Senator Diri recalled the promise made to the family of the late Ogbia PDP woman leader who hailed from the community, which he noted has been fulfilled.
He said “If we don’t come to Otuasega, our campaign is not complete. When we came then you showed us love even when you were mourning the loss of that very active member of our party. Today as we came infact, the way you have received us, I love you all.
Senator Diri further said Otuasega is home to the PDP, saying stalwarts from Ogbia and the area including, his former Chief of Staff and now Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Chief Benson Agadaga, Permanent Secretary and also Chairperson of BIPA, Patience Ranami Abah, and her elder brother who was a former Chairman of Ogbia LGA, now Technical Adviser, Hon. Enaye Abah are on ground to ensure PDP’s victory at the poll.
Senator Diri said “we have several other appointments that we have approved for some people in Otuasega and so we know that Otuasega is a home of PDP, and you remember that we don’t only come to campaign because when you are in trouble, we also come.
‘So you can differentiate those who are in power.
The Governor said Bayelsa is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria, unlike the time of the former Governor and Minister for State- Petroluem Resources, who introduced the security outfit code-named ‘Operation Famutange’ which was characterized by extrajudicial killings, oppression, harassment and intimidation of citizens of the state.
He said his government has followed the example laid down by former civilian Governor of Old Rivers State, late Chief (Sen) Melford Obiene Okilo, whose focus was to develop the rural areas and it’s people, adding that his Prosperity Administration has been tried, tested and passed, and as such merits a second term to continue to serve the people through the ballot on November eleven, twenty twenty-three..
