Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri says the Government is making frantic efforts to restore power supply in the State as well as establish it’s own independent source of electricity.
Governor Diri stated this while presiding over the one hundred and thirty four State Executive Council Meeting in Government House, Yenagoa.
He also explained that officials of the Bayelsa State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources have been trained by the Korean Government to apply smart eco-friendly technology in improving fish and rice farming amongst others.
At the side lines of the Executive Council Meeting. Mr. Andrew Ikputu-Kirifa and Mr. Christian Egbo were sworn-in as Chairmen of Ogboin South / Tarakiri Rural Development Authority in Southern Ijaw LGA and Ogbia Central RDA, in Ogbia LGA respectively.
The State chief executive charged the new RDA chairmen to always be at their duty post and replicate the good governance initiatives of the state government at the grassroots level.
Governor Diri, who stressed that the importance of governance at the grassroots cannot be over-emphasised, also charged them to ensure the people feel their presence by way of development.
