Diri’s Aide Cautions Former National IYC Spokesperson Over Comment on Principal

The Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Bayelsa State Governor, Mr Ebi Amula, has cautioned  the unguarded utterances made by the former national spokesperson of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Mr Ebilade Ekerefor alleging that the governor went ‘overboard’ in his advice to the MD of NDDC.

Recall that the governor had advised the MD of NDDC, Chief Samul Ungbuku to work closely with 9 States governors to address critical infrastructural needs of the region to avoid projects duplication and abandonment.

Reacting, Amula lambasted the former IYC spokesperson for quoting the governor’s advice out context, when he allegedly said the governor went ‘overboard’ in his advice.

Mr Amula, described it as disheartening to know that Mr Ekerefe, a political orphan, will suddenly become the mouthpiece of the MD of NDDC, to attack the Governor over his call for synergy and alignment of interests between the state government and the Commission.

The governo’s aide  lambasted him for being disloyal PDP man, who threw himself down as a self imposed advocate for pecuniary gains

He noted that Ekerefe has been on the loose since he lost the IYC Presidency to Comrade Jonathan Lokpobiri and has become so frustrated to the point of insulting the Governor at will.

Mr Amula, remarked that  the same governor had earlier supported Ekerefe to become the IYC Spokesperson and gave him a political appointment in the first tenure.

He noted that the frustration on the part of Ekerefe, translated into his recent advocacy to promoting the NDDC and its achievements.

According to him, rather than to stick to his private business of paid promotion, the former IYC scribe has stooped low to castigate Gov. Diri, whom he had in the past, appreciated for his developmental strides.

Mr Amula, who said Ekerefe, like few other disgruntled and anti-Bayelsa elements, have enjoyed the patronage of the prosperity administration in the first four years, suddenly turned defenders of the NDDC over a non-issue just to display loyalty for personal benefits

He maintained that the governor will not allow an unstable character derail the peace initiative being promoted under the Prosperity Administration.
