Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has sworn-in fifteen new permanent secretaries into the state’s civil service with a call on them to justify the trust and confidence reposed in them.
The swearing in ceremony took place at the Executive Chambers of Government House, Yenagoa.
Those sworn-in were, Anengimo Loveday, Claude Ujile Gogo, Oloye Agnes, Kemedei Doubara, Raymond Angaye, Omubo Diepreye, Sokari Stanley and Okrinya Samsiso.

Otrofaniowei Poweidei, Ekeke Hamilton, Ayabowei Enemo, Jonjon Olali, Apulu Iyobosa and Festus Lukoh
Addressing the newly inaugurated permanent secretaries, Governor Diri charged them to uphold the principles of integrity and accountability.
He also charged them to diligently implement policies and programmes to achieve the Assured prosperity agenda of the present administration.
The State chief executive, who noted that in their daily discharge of duties in the ministries, departments/agencies they should prioritize the welfare of the people.
Governor Diri explained that the appointment of permanent secretaries was based on merit as they went through examination, oral interview, considering local government spread and general knowledge, competence, years of service and vacancy.
He emphasized the need for heightened efficiency and productivity in the public sector and noted that the position carries significant responsibilities of fostering innovative ideas amongst others.
Other dignitaries at the event were, Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, member representing Sagbama/Ekemor Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Chief Fred Agbedi, Speaker of the State house of Assembly represented by leader of the house, Mr Monday Edwin, Chief of Staff, Government House, Dr Peter Akpe, State Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye, and the head of the State civil service, Mrs Biobelemoye Charles-Onyema among others.
